Jaquette Löwenhielm

Gustava Charlotta Jacquette Aurora Gyldenstolpe (4 July 1797 – 7 January 1839, Constantinople) was as Swedish noble and lady-in-waiting. She is known as the mistress of Oscar I of Sweden during his time as Crown Prince.

Jaquette was the daughter of Major General Nils Wexionius, 5th Count Gyldenstolpe (born 31 October 1768 in Forsby, died 28 August 1844 in Stockholm), and his spouse (married 12 April 1796 in Stockholm Castle), the salonist Charlotta Aurora De Geer (born 19 September 1779, died 14 May 1834 in Stockholm).

Jaquette Gyldenstolpe was the lady-in-waiting to the queen, Hedwig Elizabeth Charlotte of Holstein-Gottorp, prior to her marriage with Lieutenant General Count Carl Gustaf Löwenhielm (1790-1858) on 18 September 1817, after which she moved with him to the country. The marriage was childless. They moved back to the city when her spouse was appointed chamberlain of the court of the crown prince. Jaquette bore a daughter, named Oscaria, in 1819 to her lover the crown prince. The baby was given up to burgher-class foster-parents, and was given their last name. Jaquette and Oscar was pointed out as lovers in many private letters of the time. They behaved intimately with each other, and it was noted that Jaquette did not use his title when she spoke to him. In 1821, their relationship was about to become too obvious, and that year, prince Oscar was sent of to Europe to find a bride.

Jaquette divorced Löwenhielm on 1 September 1829 on the grounds of different characters. Her second marriage to the Finnish Baron Uno von Troil (1803-1839) took place on 21 August 1838. Both spouses died within a year of the marriage in Turkey, where Baron von Troil held a diplomatic post. This marriage too was childless.
